About
The idea of creating Lente started a couple of years ago. I have for a long time wanted to share my passion for travel, yoga, food culture and local craftmanship. Lente.no is a place for sharing different stories. Stories that comes from the heart. I will also invite you to take part on genuine slow travels and workshops, planned with love for the real things and with eyes for the small details.
Food & culture. After travels I’ve had over the years, I’ve become more and more aware of the culture around food and cultivating. Food is so much more than just food. It’s a way of connecting with other people, opening up the senses, sharing stories and passions. Food is also a part of religion, and has a long story back in time. Food should be about respect. Respect for the nature and respect for the people that have made sure that the food ends up on your plate. Growing up on a farm, this is something that has always been close to my heart. But it takes time to grow in you.
Learning from the food cultures and especially the Mediterranean has opened up a new world for me. The way the Mediterranean people process their resources and how the dining table reflects the season, are things I want to share with others, through Lente. On my way I’ve learned and discovered that food is the medicine for healthy people. The Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest in the world, and the way of enjoying food in good company is also a big part of their high quality of life.
To cook, bake, eat and create a good atmosphere around the table, is a big part of my life. I simply love it, and it gives me a boost of energy and creativity. I love to explore ingredients, new combinations and flavors. In recent years I also become more interested in where the food I eat comes from. I have a big passion for local and slow production and cultivation, and for the magic that happens when playing with nature and following its terms. I believe that we have a lot to learn from the past, when people had to eat what was available, use the nature’s resources and find ways to preserve food and not waste anything..
Lente is focused on the philosophy around slow living. Taking a step back, reflecting, slowing down the tempo, be more aware and appreciate the beauty of the small things around us, and focus inwards. Appreciate the nature and the slow, traditional processes. Supporting local industries, handcraft and agriculture.
Travels. My vision is that Lente travels are going to be travels with depth. Travels that give you an understanding of the beauty and the simplicity of slowing down and see the perfect in the imperfect. I want you to open up your heart to the genuine and authentic. I hope the travels can give you more perspective and experience magical moments that will affect you for a lifetime.
Lente aims to travel more sustainable. Meaning that we will support the local farmers and artists, travel in small groups away from the “mass” tourism. We will focus on cooking and eating vegetarian slow food and spend long, slow evenings around the dinner table. We will also connect with ourselves through yoga and mindful moments, finding calm and be presence with the nature.
Yoga. Yoga has been a part of my life for many years. Since the beginning of my twenties. Practicing yoga has helped a lot with back- and shoulder pain and has helped a lot during stressful and difficult periodes. I am a sertified 200-hours yoga teacher from a school in India from 2016.
